The Revd Jonathan Aitken has had one of the most high profile and colourful careers in British public life.
He is a former Member of Parlia
ment, Cabinet Minister, and ex-prisoner. He became a Christian while serving a prison sentence for perjury in 1999. He is now a Prison Chaplain at HMP Pentonville.  
He is the author of seventeen books including award winning biographies of John Newton, the author of Amazing Grace; former US President Richard M Nixon and former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.  He is also a well-known broadcaster and columnist for the Times and other newspapers.
He was ordained in June 2018 at St Paul’s Cathedral by the Bishop of London.  He now combines being a curate at St Matthew’s Westminster with being a chaplain at HMP Pentonville.

 

Every Wednesday Jonathan is at St Matthew's Westminster , 20 Great Peter Street, London SW1P 2BU for their Choral Evensong at 6.30pm.  The evening reaches spiritual and musical heights.
